Infant Seriously Injured Following Fall Near Soča River
Kobarid, Slovenia – Emergency services responded to a serious incident yesterday, May 30th, at 19:06 local time near the Soča River. A young infant sustained severe injuries after falling from a bridge in the area. Police were alerted to the situation and arrived at the scene to find a family recounting an accident that occurred while they were traversing a path leading from Kozjak waterfall.
The family had been walking along the path, crossing the Soča bridge and proceeding towards a nearby campsite. According to initial reports, an 8-year-old child tripped and fell approximately six meters from the bridge onto a rocky slope below. The bridge itself is one meter high and features a fence constructed of three steel ropes.
The infant suffered significant physical injuries as a result of the fall. Immediately following the incident, rescue services were dispatched to the Soča bridge in Kobarid to provide medical assistance. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The area remains cordoned off as the investigation proceeds.
