The SDS has lodged objections concerning seven electoral units following the organization of certain voting units during an early voting election. They assert that the arrangement of these units deviated from legal standards. Across all electoral units, the electoral commissions dismissed these objections as lacking merit.
Specifically, in the Postojna, Ptuj, and Celje units, the commissions, as reported by STAT, determined that no appeal rights existed, nor was administrative dispute resolution permitted before the Supreme Court. However, for the Ljubljana Beograd and Kranj electoral units, the SDS raised concerns. They highlighted that each candidate and representative of the candidate list retained the right to appeal the electoral commission’s decision, a process potentially impacting the confirmation of parliamentary mandates.
This right to appeal, as stipulated in the Law on Elections within the DZ, must be submitted within the session of the Assembly. The entire situation revolves around the contested organization of these electoral units and the subsequent voting procedures.
