The BMWs were seized in Slovenia

Police officers from the Maribor Police Department were alerted regarding the movement of individuals potentially transporting vehicles stolen from BMW. The operation led to the interception and subsequent procedural examination of several vehicles. Further investigation was conducted by criminal investigators from the department, who worked in cooperation with Austrian security authorities.

These inquiries revealed that during the night of July 16 to 17, 2026, multiple BMW vehicles were stolen from the territory of the Republic of Austria. The investigation determined that the thefts were perpetrated by citizens associated with the Republic of Serbia, with the total estimated value of the stolen automobiles reaching approximately 85,000 euros. Following the initial stops, the police conducted thorough follow-up procedures.

After collecting necessary notifications and conducting detailed investigations of the seized property, the authorities confirmed the location and recovery of the stolen vehicles. As a result of the intensive criminal investigation, the stolen BMWs were successfully seized. The individuals involved in the operation were subsequently released following the completion of necessary procedures.

The coordinated efforts of the police department ensured the recovery of the assets and addressed the cross-border theft incident.
