President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia has overseen a significant security operation following the discovery of explosive materials near a critical gas pipeline in Kanjiža, northern Serbia. The find occurred approximately 300 meters from the pipeline, situated roughly 15 kilometers from the Hungarian border. Responding to the situation, Serbian authorities deployed a substantial response force including helicopters, drones, and service dogs equipped with thermal imaging devices.

Anti-submarine teams and rescue vehicles were also utilized. Roads leading to the pipeline were secured by police and military personnel. President Vučić reported informing Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán about the initial findings of the ongoing investigation into the potential threat to the vital gas infrastructure.

Details regarding the specific nature of the traces discovered remain undisclosed. While the precise motive behind the discovery is not yet known, officials confirmed that an investigation is underway.
