Slovenian text: Slovenian volleyball players in the big final: We are close, but so far away

The Slovenian women’s handball team has demonstrated a dominant performance in the European League this year, securing their eighth straight win and achieving a total of 24 consecutive sets won. This impressive run of success has characterized their participation since the beginning of the tournament. Early in the competition, the team established itself as a top contender within the continental handball sub-division.

A victory in the upcoming final would secure their qualification for the Nations League, concluding an exceptionally successful season for the Slovenian squad. Furthermore, the Slovenian team outperformed their Slovak counterparts in a recent match held in Vizmarja. The Slovak team was unable to secure a set victory once again.

Although the match was closely contested in the third set, where the Slovenian women dropped three decisive points, the Slovenian team ultimately prevailed with a score of 29:27. Following the game, a spokesperson stated, “We are not satisfied that we let ourselves get into such a position in the third set. Luckily, everything turned out well in the end.” The consistent winning streak underscores the high level of play exhibited by the Slovenian ladies, positioning them strongly for the remainder of the season’s objectives.
