The Šiljić prosecution accuses the club LokalPatriot in the center of Novo mesto of attacking Šutarja, when he came to get his son, and punching him, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground. The head injuries were so severe that he died the same day. Samir Šiljić at the court.
PHOTO: Damjan Žibert For the accusing crime of causing particularly severe physical injury, resulting in death, the Criminal Code provides from three to 15 years of imprisonment. As Šiljić has concluded an agreement with the prosecution on admission of guilt, the highest possible penalty is not expected. The judge Peter Žnidaršič will have to decide whether the admission of guilt agreement meets all the required conditions and whether to accept it before the verdict is delivered.
The police initially arrested Šiljić’s cousin in connection with the attack, but the court sentenced him after the court.
