Significant Traffic Congestion Reported Across Slovenian Highways
Multiple sections of Slovenia’s highway network are experiencing substantial traffic delays, impacting travel across the country. Heavy congestion is currently reported between several key locations, including the Ljubljana bypass and various points along the Primorska and Gorenjska highways. Specifically, significant delays are occurring on the Ljubljana bypass, from Barje to Kozarje and extending towards both the Primorska and Gorenjska regions.
Furthermore, traffic is “all stopped” between Kozarje and Koseze, continuing towards the Šentvid tunnel. This closure is due to safety concerns, with intermittent closures also noted within the Šentvid tunnel itself between Koseze and Kozarje. The congestion extends to the Primorska highway, with delays reported between Ljubljana and Vrhnika to Koper, and also between Senožeče and Postojna to Ljubljana, and in sections between Postojna and Brezovica.
Similarly, the Gorenjska highway is experiencing delays between the Šentvid tunnel and the Vodice junction on several sections heading towards Kranj, and before the Karavanke tunnel towards Austria, covering a 3km stretch. These disruptions are also affecting the Styrian highway, with similar congestion reported between the Šentvid tunnel and the Vodice junction, and before the Karavanke tunnel. Authorities are advising motorists to expect delays and to plan their journeys accordingly.
