Borut Rončević Presents Credentials for Minister Role

Borut Rončević, a candidate for Minister of Education, Science and Youth, presented his qualifications to a committee of the DZ today. Born on August 25, 1975, Rončević holds the position of full professor of sociology at the Faculty of Information Studies in novo mesto, Slovenia. He also serves as a scientific advisor at the Rudolf – Scientific and Technological Center Novo mesto.

During his presentation, Rončević highlighted his extensive academic background and professional experience. He has primarily engaged in academic pursuits throughout his career, complemented by significant periods spent abroad. His roles have included leadership positions within several higher education and research institutions, as well as a one-year tenure as director of the Directorate for Higher Education within the ministry.

Rončević acknowledged a relative lack of direct experience within the education and youth sector. However, he asserted that this is not a deficiency, citing his history of adapting to new areas within his career. “It is important,” he stated, “to embrace new challenges and apply diverse skillsets.”
