Red alert also for parts of Slovenia

Hot Weather and Thunderstorms Expected Across Slovenia

Slovenia is forecast to experience hot and sunny conditions today and tomorrow, with temperatures expected to peak across the country. High daily temperatures of 29 to 32 degrees Celsius are anticipated, particularly in the Gorizia and Vipava Valley, where readings could reach 34 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow will bring mostly clear skies, with a prevailing easterly wind in the interior.

However, thunderstorms are expected, primarily in the western regions, and a red alert will be issued for Sunday. The highest temperatures on Sunday are predicted to range from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. Eastern areas will experience a reduction in cloud cover.

Low morning temperatures will range from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, dropping to around 15 degrees Celsius in alpine valleys and on high plateaus of the Innerland. Authorities advise residents to take precautions during this period of intense heat. Recommendations include seeking shade during the day, avoiding strenuous physical activity, and consuming light meals alongside adequate hydration.

Maintaining ventilation in living spaces, particularly during the cooler morning and evening hours, is also advised. Individuals parking vehicles are encouraged to utilize sunny locations.
