The recent parliamentary elections in Slovenia saw a voter turnout of 70.25% with 1,190,819 ballots cast. The Freedom Movement secured the largest share of the vote, receiving 28.66% and electing 29 Members of Parliament. The Social Democrats (SDS) followed closely with 27.88% and 28 parliamentary seats.
A significant result was achieved by the coalition of the National Community Party (NSi), Slovene Liberal Party (SLS), and Marko Lotriča’s Fokus, who gained nine parliamentary positions. The Social Democratic Party (SD) and Anže Logar’s Democrats secured six seats each. The joint list of Levica and Vesna, alongside the Resni.ca party, obtained five parliamentary representatives.
Today, the Election Commission (DVK) will review the draft minutes detailing the election results. Before this discussion, the DVK will consider an objection submitted by the SDS regarding the conduct of the elections. The DVK will also address an earlier objection raised by the SDS last week.
