Pogačar will break new records and set new milestones after Flanders

The 2024 edition of the Flemish Cycling Classic, formerly known as “Flemish Christmas,” will traverse a route stretching 278.2 kilometers between Antwerp and Oudenaarde. The course will feature minor adjustments, but largely maintains its established layout, marking the longest race since 1988. The race traditionally begins with challenging sections on the cobblestone streets, commencing with the first crossing of the Oude Kwaremont approximately 142 kilometers into the race.

Riders will then navigate 13 distinct cobblestone sectors, including a double ascent of the Oude Kwaremont-Paterberg, situated roughly 50 kilometers from the finish line. Notable climbs throughout the race include the Molenberg, Koppenberg, and Taaienberg, all renowned for their difficulty. Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar, widely considered the best cyclist of recent years, is participating in the race.

This marks Pogačar’s debut at the Flanders Classic after three previous appearances. The race is expected to feature intense competition and strategic maneuvering across the challenging terrain.
