Petrol now 1.6 and diesel 1.8 euros per liter, no more limit on filling

The cost of 95-octane petrol and diesel has reached its peak level since the late June and early July of 2022. Simultaneously, the price of heating oil has dropped to its lowest point since the end of October and the beginning of November 2022. These fluctuations are directly linked to the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which initially triggered significant price increases.

The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy has maintained the existing excise tax rates on petrol since those initial explanations. Furthermore, the excise tax on diesel fuel and heating oil is already at its absolute minimum. In response to rising fuel costs following the conflict in the Middle East, the Government has implemented a temporary measure to abolish new price increases.

Fuel prices will now be determined on a weekly basis. The upcoming prices, scheduled for release exceptionally due to Easter Monday, will be announced on Tuesday and will take effect from Wednesday. The Government has also removed the previous limit on fuel excise taxes.

This adjustment ensures that fuel prices are monitored and adjusted regularly, reflecting the current market conditions and providing stability for consumers reliant on petrol and diesel.
