Ostrc did not present the content of the agreement with radiologists, he did not “get down” to it

Following an intervention by Ostrc, several more radiologists reportedly signed new employment contracts on Friday. According to Saša Rudolf Bombek, the new head of the radiologists department, those who did not sign the new agreements will continue their duties at the UKC Maribor facility. Bombek clarified that these professionals retain the ability to work for other employers.

Ostrc issued a statement expressing satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the agreement ensures the residents of Maribor and the wider Northeast Slovenia will maintain access to essential urgent healthcare services. In a statement provided to the media, Ostrc emphasized that in the healthcare sector, the focus must remain on patient welfare, asserting that patient care is the priority regardless of any ongoing professional disputes. The local medical staff corroborated this development.

Sašo Pjević, an interventional radiologist at UKC Maribor, confirmed that the department had reached a resolution following the involvement of the Ministry of Health. Pjević stated that an agreement had been successfully negotiated, allowing the current teams of radiologists to continue providing necessary services without interruption. The overall developments suggest a stabilization of staffing levels, reinforcing the commitment to uninterrupted medical care across the region.
