Police authorities have registered a criminal complaint against an unidentified individual who issued threats against prosecutors and judges concerning the Patria case via the social network X approximately eighteen months ago. According to reports, the incident involved a user operating under the name Marko Zidar. On November 1, 2024, the user published the names and alleged residences of the prosecutor and judges who were implicated in the Patria proceedings.
The posts were reportedly framed by statements attributed to the president of the SDS, Janez Janša, including the phrase, “Pride-class villas are burning-up.”
This social media activity followed an incident involving a break-in and the subsequent burning of the home belonging to a judge in Brežice. In response to the threats, several key governmental and judicial bodies issued joint condemnations. These organizations included the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court, the Judicial Council, the Association of State Prosecutors, and the Slovenian Judicial Association.
Collectively, they warned that the threats constituted harassment directed at judges and prosecutors, alleging that such actions stemmed from past judicial decisions. The filing of the criminal complaint marks a formal legal response to the threats made against the judiciary.
