Cedevita Olimpija Secures Quarterfinal Spot Against Red Star
Ljubljana-based basketball team, Cedevita Olimpija, has qualified for the quarterfinals of the EuroLeague’s group for the top teams after finishing sixth in its group. The team will compete against Red Star in a best-of-three series. The initial match is scheduled for the second weekend of May in Belgrade, with a return game set for the following week in Ljubljana.
A potential third game is tentatively scheduled between May 22nd and 25th. Cedevita Olimpija and Red Star shared the spoils this season, with Olimpija winning the first encounter at home in November by a single point. Red Star subsequently prevailed in a December match with a score of 97-77.
Cedevita Olimpija has reached the quarterfinal stage of the EuroLeague’s last two seasons. They were eliminated by Alvark Dubai in the quarterfinal round in 2023, and by Mega Basket in 2024. The matchup between Cedevita Olimpija and Igokea will not be part of this quarterfinal series.
