Ai Ogura Secures Pole Position at Brno, Setting New Track Record

Japanese racer Ai Ogura achieved the best starting position at the Czech National Grand Prix in Brno, setting a lap time of 1:51.139. This impressive time significantly improved upon the existing track record, reducing it by over half a second. Ogura established a new track record for Brno, marking a notable advancement in the circuit’s performance.

From the first starting line, Ogura secured the optimal position for the upcoming sprint race and the Sunday main race. Fabio Di Giannantonio (+0.211) and Francesco Bagnaia (+0.244) will also contend for positions in these races. Early in the qualifying session, Di Giannantonio and Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira occupied the top two spots.

“I wasn’t entirely certain of my pace,” Ogura commented following his qualifying win. “We have two more races ahead, and we’ll assess the challenges. While pleased with the best starting position, confirmation will come during the sprint race and the Sunday main race.”

The focus now shifts to the sprint and main events, where Ogura and his competitors will aim to translate this advantageous starting position into race results.

The Brno track will undoubtedly present further opportunities and obstacles as the weekend progresses.
