The title of the film Misaligned references the complex endeavor of aligning artificial intelligence with human values and objectives. Eline van der Velden, CEO and founder of Particle 6, stated that while artificial intelligence can support the production of high-quality films, it requires substantial input of human creative knowledge, skills, judgment, and time. She emphasized that this requirement is fundamental to the process, rather than a limitation of the technology itself.
Van der Velden noted that filmmakers such as Tilly Norwood, who utilized UI assistance, are positioned to get their film completed. She added that over the next decade, the filmmakers who successfully integrate decades of storytelling experience with these emerging tools are the ones who are most likely to succeed. According to her, Misaligned serves as a practical example of how this integration can be applied to a feature film.
The company confirmed to AFP that this methodology is currently being implemented.
