NPU in relation to Snežič’s alleged involvement in the Dars affair without an indictment

The Dars scandal surfaced in the fall of 2023 following allegations concerning improper dealings involving the company. POP TV was instrumental in bringing the controversy to light by publishing the testimony of an unnamed whistleblower. This source alleged that bribes were exchanged to secure a deal with Dars.

Furthermore, the outlet published a recording purportedly showing that an individual named Snežič received 5,000 euros, with claims suggesting a total payment of 90,000 euros from the whistleblower. It was further alleged that Snežič collected these funds on behalf of the SDS party. Initially, both Valentin Hajdinjak, the former president of Dars, and Snežič publicly denied all accusations, a stance echoed by the SDS.

In November of the same year, Hajdinjak resigned from his leadership role at Dars, asserting that he had managed the company legally and responsibly. Six months after the media coverage revealed these irregularities, the legal situation progressed. In April 2024, Snežič faced formal charges related to abuse of position and unlawful giving and receiving.

The initial revelations, driven by the whistleblower testimony and subsequent recordings published by the media, marked a significant development in the ongoing scrutiny of Dars’s corporate dealings.
