Nataša Pirc Musar injured in a traffic accident

Police officers from the Koper Police Department were notified on Friday afternoon at 16:57 regarding an incident on the Slovenian state highway traveling in the direction of Ljubljana. The accident involved two police vehicles that were part of a protected person’s escort convoy. Two individuals were reported injured in the incident.

One person sustained minor injuries, while the other was seriously injured. Both individuals were transported to the General Hospital Izola by rescue personnel. It was confirmed that President of the Republic Nataša Pirc Musar was among those involved in the event, sustaining minor injuries.

Her office confirmed that she was transported to the Isolde hospital by a rescue vehicle. She remained under observation overnight and is scheduled for discharge to home care today. The police department issued a clarification regarding the nature of the incident.

According to the officers, the event did not qualify as a standard traffic accident, as it occurred while the President was traveling from Croatia en route to the hospital. The details surrounding the precise cause of the collision remain under investigation by the authorities.
