Police Officer Killed in Krapina Shooting

A police officer was killed in a shooting incident at a pub in Krapina, Croatia, shortly after 8:00 a.m. local time. The officer, who was not on duty at the time of the incident, died as a result of the gunshot wound.

According to police officials, a suspect was also wounded with the same firearm and subsequently transported by helicopter to Dubrava Hospital for treatment. Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the head of the Criminal Police of the Krapinsko-zagorska police district was the victim.

Croatian press agency Hina first reported the incident. Witnesses at the pub, where approximately fifteen individuals were present, reported the shooting occurred before their eyes. Further details are emerging as the investigation continues.

Police have not released the suspect’s identity or a motive for the shooting. The scene remains under police control as they gather evidence and assess the situation.
