The traffic on the roads is increasing, a part of the Ljubljana railway station is closed

Traffic authorities are anticipating significantly increased travel volumes this morning due to holiday travel. The traffic information center predicts particularly heavy traffic throughout the morning commute. Furthermore, rest areas along highways and motorways are expected to be more crowded, and there will be a higher volume of vehicles with foreign registrations.

Traffic density is anticipated to be elevated, particularly in transit directions. The extended weekends, observed in several countries, and the commencement of holidays earlier this week are contributing factors to the surge in travel. The primary areas of concern are travel between Austria and Croatia, and between Italy and Hungary.

Specifically, congestion is predicted at border crossings including Obrežje, Karavanke, Šentilj, and Gruškovje, as well as along routes between Koper and Croatian border crossings at Sečovlje and Dragonja. Widespread congestion is also expected on the Ljubljana ring road, within the Primorska region, and in the Zagreb region. Authorities advise travelers to plan accordingly and anticipate delays.
