Four people were killed and one injured during an Easter egg hunt in Satrupolm on Sunday. The event, organized by the Association of Young Mothers and Pregnant Women, drew approximately 50 attendees to a forest near the town. A large tree, estimated to be around 30 meters tall, fell and was uprooted by strong winds.
The tree then collapsed, burying several individuals beneath it. Two women and an 16-year-old girl died at the scene as a result of the incident. A 10-month-old baby and an 18-year-old girl were also injured.
The 18-year-old was transported to a hospital in Kiel by rescue helicopter, but later died from her injuries. Emergency services responded to the scene and worked to extricate those trapped beneath the fallen tree. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, focusing on the impact of the strong winds and the stability of the tree.
