Long-time Slovenian national team player strengthened the newest First League player

Jasmin Kurtić has returned to his home country following a successful, albeit geographically diverse, career, with a significant portion spent in neighboring Italy during the last season. While he was brought in to “strengthen” the Ljubljana Olimpija team, he reportedly struggled to establish himself as the most experienced player and did not significantly impact the team’s performance late in the season. Kurtić will now transfer to Grosuplje, a club located half an hour away, where he will represent the newly promoted first league side.

Meanwhile, the club Brinje achieved what many considered a notable achievement in recent Slovenian football. During the cup competition, they secured victories against both Maribor and Olimpija in the elimination rounds, ultimately advancing to the final. In that final, they defeated Aluminij.

Despite the loss, the result did not appear to discourage the club, as they managed to secure a surprise top spot in the final league round, contributing to the team’s overall strong showing. This marks a significant chapter in the player’s career trajectory, moving him closer to his roots after a long period of professional play.
