Two extensions at the opening of the final: ‘We want more such matches’

Ljubljana Makes Progress Towards Fifth Consecutive National Championship

Ljubljana Miners have taken a significant step towards securing their fifth consecutive triple crown in domestic competitions, marking their 23rd national championship title – sixth in the series. The team, backed by the Slovenian Basketball Association, has dominated the league for the past fifteen years, most recently claiming the 2021 cup trophy. Krka, the last team to achieve victory, has not secured a national championship title since that win.

Competition remains strong with Novo mesto, who have previously secured seven national champion titles, with their most recent victory dating back to the 2013/14 season. The match, held under challenging conditions, saw Zvezdan Mitrović comment, “Very interesting match and very demanding to play. As you can see, we are completely drenched – it was really hot and sultry here today, so the conditions were not easy.”

Moving forward, the Miners will require consent for the integration of social media and third-party content.

Their continued success reflects a sustained period of dominance within Slovenian basketball.
