Financial Administration Sends Out Information Tax Calculations, Requests Debtor Review
The financial administration has dispatched the initial batch of information tax calculations, totaling 991,504 for the year 2024, to debtors. This delivery occurred on March 31st and follows an identification of 384,903 individuals who may have overpaid their income tax. Those who agree with the provided calculation do not require further action; the decision will be automatically processed within 30 days of shipment.
However, debtors are urged to carefully review the information. Failure to file an objection within the stipulated timeframe constitutes a tax offense. Penalties for not raising an objection, despite inaccurate information, range from €250 to €400.
An objection can be submitted electronically via the e-Tax system, in person, or by mail to the relevant financial office. Importantly, debtors can also claim relief for dependent family members if this has not already been done. The financial administration, through Furs, will remit refunds to those identified as having overpaid.
It’s crucial for all debtors to meticulously examine the provided calculation to ensure accuracy and to formally lodge an objection if necessary.
