The most critical part of Zagreb’s bypass is expected to start in the second half of September and be completed by next autumn. The president of the company Hrvatske autoceste (HAC) Boris Huzjan said at the signing of the contract last week that the reconstruction and expansion of the 4.5-kilometer section of the motorway between Jankomir and Lučka was decided due to the frequent traffic jams on this part, reported Net.hr. Every day, more than 80,000 vehicles pass this section, and in the summer peak, up to 89,000 vehicles pass.
The project includes the construction of an additional lane, reconstruction of the existing roadway, and the demolition and construction of a new Dubrava bridge. Plans also include measures to increase safety and environmental protection, including a closed drainage system, anti-noise protection, and after-treatment of waste water.
