The reconstruction of the lost statue, 3.7 meters high, was initiated by Vida Libnik. He told STAT that when he moved to Štefanova street in 2012, he wanted to find out as much as possible about the building and came across the information that the statue of the Seed-Sower once stood on it. According to Libnik, the statue was extremely imposing in old photographs and it was clear that it had strongly influenced the appearance of the building and the entire area.
In addition to the image, he was also very attracted by the unknown fate of the statue. The Seed-Sower in Ljubljana. PHOTO: Bobo Kiparjev’s son, now deceased Zlat Kralj, later revealed to him that the statue was originally made of wood and surrounded by hammered copper.
His father, who experimented with new processes, apparently slightly poorer joined two copper pieces. Water flowed through the slot, the wood dried and the statue was damaged.
