In autumn, from Ljubljana Airport, also to Tenerife

AirBaltic recently inaugurated a consistent route to Gran Canaria, part of the Spanish Canary Islands, departing from Brnik Airport last winter. This connection complemented existing flights from Ljubljana to Riga, the airline’s established route. AirBaltic is preparing to expand its operations, with upcoming flights to Rome.

The Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure has announced the receipt of four applications under the tenth public call aimed at improving air connectivity across the country. These applications, as reported by the Ex-yu aviation portal, include a proposal from ITA Airways, an Italian carrier. The carrier intends to create a direct link between Rome and Ljubljana.

This move represents a significant development, as Jože Pučnik Airport last operated a direct connection to Rome nearly two decades ago, when Adria Airways offered a seasonal service. The expansion reflects a renewed focus on bolstering air travel options from Ljubljana airport.
