Ilka Štuhec crossed the finish line for the last time in her career

Ilka Štuhec announced last Saturday in Pec during the Downhill challenge that this would be her final season competing in skiing. She confirmed she will conclude her active sporting career following today’s performance. Štuhec secured 17th place in the Saturday’s downhill race, simultaneously winning the competition and receiving the small crystal globe for the overall downhill season score.

Her final ranking in the special discipline standings was 15th. She is set to begin the race at Olympiabakken with starting number 3. Throughout this winter, Štuhec achieved 21st place in the super-giant slalom final in Norway.

This marked her 90th super-giant slalom appearance in the World Cup. Following the race, Štuhec shared, “I cried before the start, but then I laughed during the race.” It was a poignant moment for her, reflecting on her downhill journey.
