Trump Announces Immediate Repair of Damaged Reflective Pool
Following an inspection of the damage, former President Donald Trump announced the immediate commencement of repairs to the heavily damaged reflective pool near Washington, D.C. The announcement was made via his Truth Social network. Trump stated that upon inspecting the site, he could only express surprise, writing, “wow, who would do something like that?” He did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the damage.
The reflective pool, located between Lincoln’s monument and the Washington Monument, was recently the subject of extensive renovation as part of preparations for the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration, scheduled for next month. The renovation included repainting the pool bottom in a dark blue color to enhance the reflection of the surrounding landmarks. However, shortly after the completion of the work, issues arose, including the rapid growth of algae and the subsequent peeling of the protective coating.
Trump has previously acknowledged “serious problems” related to the project. Experts have characterized the problems as significant, necessitating immediate repair efforts. The timeline for the completion of the repair has not yet been announced.
