The first half of the race already hinted that a new Mercedes victory could be prevented only by a big surprise. The question was only whether George Russell would repeat Sunday’s sprint win and take the second place this year for the fourth time or Kimi Antonelli would achieve his fourth consecutive victory. Russell and Antonelli often found themselves next to each other.
