City Council Approves Draft Ordinance for Proposed Šiška Skyscraper
The Ljubljana City Council has adopted a supplementary draft ordinance regarding the detailed spatial plan for a proposed skyscraper at the intersection of Celovška and Gospodinjska streets in the Šiška district. The project, spearheaded by C-Tower – a company owned by Bulgarian investors through Smart Property – envisions a mixed-use building reaching a height of approximately 60 meters. The development will include 80 apartments alongside commercial spaces designed for business, service, and retail activities.
City officials state the project aims to stimulate economic activity in the area. Concerns have been raised by local residents regarding the scale of the development. Aleš Primc, a local resident, expressed opposition, stating that the project is linked to Zoran Janković, a prominent figure in Ljubljana politics.
Primc indicated that the project represents another opportunity for a business associate to establish operations within the city. The City Council’s decision follows a period of review and consultation. Further details regarding the project’s impact on the surrounding streetscape and infrastructure are expected to be released.
The City Council is currently seeking consent to integrate social media and third-party content into its public communications.
