Slovenian Mountaineering Team Focused on Upcoming Season and International Competition
At a press conference held at the Slovenian Mountaineering Association headquarters, national team selector Gorazd Hren outlined the team’s strategy for the upcoming season. Hren emphasized the importance of consistently achieving high performance levels, stating that failure to do so would preclude participation in the Olympic Games and World Championships. The team’s immediate goals include competing in the European Championships scheduled for July in Barcelona and the World Championships in Laval, set for August.
Hren anticipates a diverse range of matches within the world competition. “There will also be a lot of variety in each match,” he noted. Looking ahead to home matches, Hren expressed a desire to foster a positive atmosphere in Koper, particularly when Janja is present.
He acknowledged her significant contribution while stressing the dedication of the remaining team members. The team has engaged in extensive international simulation training and believes they are well-prepared. “The matches will tell their own story,” Hren concluded, suggesting a focus on performance rather than pre-determined expectations.
The season promises a challenging and competitive landscape for the Slovenian mountaineering team.
