At the previous race of the VN Trentino, Tim Gajser crossed the finish line for the first time in a Yamaha motorcycle in the second run and took the overall second place. This time he scored six points in the SP in qualifying and thus some new points.
He won the Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings ahead of his countryman Kay de Wolf and the leading Belgian Lucas Coenen. Before Gajser there were two Frenchmen, his Yamaha teammate Maxime Renaux and world champion Romain Febvre.
