Fuel derivatives significantly cheaper

Fuel Taxes Remain Unchanged Following Government Review

The government maintained existing excise tax rates on petroleum derivatives on Monday, according to a statement released by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy. The current rates remain at 0.42625 euros per liter for 95-octane petrol, 0.33000 euros per liter for diesel, and 0.07875 euros per liter for heating oil. The Ministry emphasized that retail margins for merchants are capped, with maximum allowable additions of 0.0983 euros per liter for diesel, 0.0994 euros per liter for 95-octane petrol, and 0.08 euros per liter for heating oil.

Pricing for these fuels continues to be determined through a methodology reflecting global movements in mineral oil derivative prices and the exchange rate between the dollar and the euro. Model prices are calculated using seven-day averages of these derivative costs. Furthermore, individual merchants are responsible for setting final prices at the point of sale, particularly along motorways and expressways.

The Ministry’s decision reflects ongoing monitoring of market conditions and adherence to established pricing regulations, all measured in euros per liter.
