For a 50-liter diesel tank, it costs 84 euros, and for petrol, 79 euros

The government implemented significant tax reductions on Monday, setting fuel taxes at their lowest possible level. Previously, last week saw a temporary suspension of environmental taxes applied to fuels. Without these measures, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy would have mandated prices of 1.748 euros per liter for 95-octane unleaded petrol, 1.919 euros for diesel, and 1.588 euros for heating oil.

The current price of 95-octane unleaded petrol represents the highest level since September 26th to October 9th, 2023, when the price was 1.588 euros per liter. Similarly, the new prices for diesel stand at 1.718 euros per liter, and for heating oil, 1.401 euros per liter. These increases reflect the ongoing rise in petroleum derivative costs.

This situation echoes the energy crisis experienced between November 8th and 21st, 2022, directly linked to the conflict in Ukraine. The government’s actions are intended to mitigate the impact of these escalating prices on consumers, particularly concerning diesel and petrol.
