Dars is spearheading plans for the expansion of the Primorska motorway in Ljubljana, a project involving the companies Kolektor CPG and Trgograd. The combined bid submitted by these firms was valued at 144.2 million euros before tax, equating to just under 176 million euros with tax. The necessity for this infrastructure upgrade is highlighted by persistent traffic congestion and significant jams observed in the direction of the Kozarje split and onward to Vrhnika.
A public contract for the motorway segment between Kozarje and Vrhnika, or Verdo, can proceed following the acquisition of the final environmental permit. This critical permit was secured in September of last year, concluding a two-year application process. The scope of the planned work encompasses a comprehensive renovation of the aging road structure.
Key improvements include the rearrangement of the third traffic lane to a standardized width of 3.5 meters, the installation of designated parking niches, and corresponding structural expansions at the overpasses. These planned enhancements are designed to ensure the motorway expansion becomes fully functional. The project aims to alleviate current commuting difficulties by modernizing and increasing the capacity of this vital transport corridor.
