On a recent Tuesday, the facility received three helicopters carrying severely injured individuals at the heliport of the Ljubljana University Clinical Center. This marks a trend of increasingly frequent days throughout the summer when three or more injured patients arrive via helicopter. Cumulatively, the heliport at the UKC Ljubljana has seen over 420 helicopter landings this year.
The hospital has indicated that the increase in trauma cases is partly due to the combination of extreme weather and subsequent physical impairment. In light of these elevated numbers, the center has issued a general advisory, requesting that all residents proceed to the heliport when danger levels are high.
