Credit food: a story that needs our support

I took her under my wing just before the close of last year, and I called her Zora, wanting to shield her from further difficulties. Her persistent optimism and belief in fresh starts reminded me of the sunrise. The message we received the day before Christmas revealed her challenging life story and the numerous troubles she was experiencing.

Her letter began with a plea: “I fear I’ll end up on the road, dear, and I turn to you in the hope that you can assist me, as I’m facing a significant financial crisis.”

In 2022, she underwent a painful divorce, and her son bore the brunt of the emotional consequences. Following the separation, she needed to process the trauma of a violent relationship and cope with limited income. Despite receiving sporadic support, she felt secure knowing her son was safe.

It was clear she was grappling with considerable troubles, and her story highlighted the immense challenges she faced.
