The Speaker of the National Assembly (DZ), Zoran Stevanović, responded to an opposition inquiry regarding the status of the parliamentary agenda if it fails to pass on Tuesday, stating that the outcome remains to be seen. In response, several opposition groups, including the Freedom, Levica, and Vesna parties, are demanding a formal parliamentary investigation into the controversy surrounding the Black Cube affair. Their primary objective is to establish who commissioned the secret recording of conversations involving prominent figures from both political and legal sectors, and to identify the source of the funding for these recordings.
Furthermore, the opposition parties expressed concern over a recent visit by representatives of the Black Cube to the headquarters of the SDS party. They questioned whether this visit constituted an attempt to influence the results of the parliamentary elections scheduled for March 22nd. Beyond the espionage concerns, the opposition also seeks to broaden the scope of the parliamentary inquiry.
They intend to investigate suspicions related to the collateral or unauthorized financing of political parties. This broader scope includes examining allegations of hidden funding channeled through associated business and media relationships, as well as scrutinizing the inflow of funds originating from these same related business and media channels.
