Armored mesh fell on the worker, both lives are at risk

The Slovenian National Emergency Service reported that an accident took place at 7:31 a.m. at a major construction site located on Kranjčeva Street in Ljubljana. The site is adjacent to the Soča Rehabilitation Center, where construction is underway for a private hospital facility.

Initial reports indicate that a suspended load detached from a crane and fell into the construction pit, striking two workers. The incident triggered an immediate emergency response. Responders from the Ljubljana Fire Brigade and PGD Barje arrived on the scene to provide assistance.

Emergency personnel were required to conduct a technical intervention to safely extract the injured workers from the pit. Following the rescue, medical teams provided initial treatment before transporting both men to the Ljubljana University Hospital. Ljubljana police were notified of the accident at the Bežigrad construction site several hours before 8 a.m.

Authorities stated that, according to available information, the workers were engaged in their duties while the crane operator was maneuvering steel mesh. The police report noted that the crane operator had restricted the workers during the operation. At the time of reporting, authorities confirmed that the lives of both injured workers were considered to be at risk.
