A 18-year-old patient was admitted to the Pediatric Orthopedics and Spondylocirurgy Department of the University Hospital in Žilina, Slovakia, suffering from disc disease, according to tnlive.sk. The consequences of the disease were evident in increased spinal curvature and severe pain. The surgery has brought an unexpected result.
Before the operation, Martin was 204 centimeters tall. When he woke up from anesthesia and finally no longer felt pain, he noticed that he had grown. Now he is 209 centimeters tall.
The surgery was not easy, and patients were cared for by doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other specialists.
