Ljubljana Police Investigate Second Sharp Object Attack
The Ljubljana Police Department (PU) is currently investigating a second incident involving the use of sharp objects in the Šiška district. A 52-year-old suspect is currently in police custody, and the police have stated they are examining all relevant events leading up to the incident. However, the police are unable to comment on specific accusations made by attorney Tina Šnajder, who represents the suspect’s brother.
In a letter addressed to the media and the police leadership, Šnajder highlighted that the suspect had been prohibited from entering the affected area for nearly a year and that this was not his initial involvement in similar incidents. Šnajder also expressed criticism of the police’s investigative work, asserting that the Šiška incident would not have occurred “if the police were fulfilling their duties and not simply documenting events.”
The investigation is in its early stages, and the police are focusing on establishing the circumstances surrounding the crime. They are reviewing events prior to the incident and exploring the suspect’s history.
Details regarding the specific charges against the suspect remain undisclosed at this time. The photograph of the scene was taken by Luka Kotnik. The police are continuing their investigation with the aim of gathering sufficient evidence to determine the nature of the offenses.
