Fuel Prices Remain Elevated, With Potential for Limited Reduction
Current retail fuel prices are expected to remain at their highest levels until Tuesday, April 28th, according to recent government assessments. The government has indicated it will not intervene with excise tax rates at this time. Diesel and heating oil taxes are already at their minimum levels, and there is potential for a reduction in excise taxes applied to 95-octane gasoline.
Fuel prices are determined through a weekly model based on the average prices of petroleum derivatives. These models are calculated per liter and are subject to change. If the regulated prices and fuel were to be subject to the environmental tax payment, the estimated cost would be significant.
For 95-octane gasoline, this would rise to approximately 1,772 euros per liter. Diesel would be estimated at around 1,919 euros per liter, and heating oil at approximately 1,591 euros per liter. Since March 20th, merchants have been permitted to freely set fuel prices on motorways and expressways.
The current pricing structure reflects these market dynamics.
