The Minister called a crisis command center, also investigating the possibility of terrorism

A devastating fire erupted at 4:21, prompting a swift response from eleven firefighting teams across the region. These units battled the blaze for several hours, working diligently to contain the damage. Initial assessments indicate that the resulting losses are estimated to be in the tens of millions of euros.

Czech authorities are actively investigating multiple potential causes, with a particular focus on the possibility of arson. Minister Lubomír Metnar responded to the situation by calling a crisis team for today’s assessment. He issued a statement via social media X, expressing the gravity of the situation.

“We are addressing this matter with the utmost seriousness,” Metnar stated. “There is a potential link to a terrorist act under consideration, and we are examining the information suggesting an organized group’s involvement. Currently, we are validating the reliability of this information and urging against unfounded speculation.”

The Czech intelligence service, BIS, has joined the investigation, collaborating closely with the national anti-terrorist unit.
