In January of this year, Slovenia recorded a significant number of pension recipients, totaling 658,184. This figure represents a substantial increase compared to ten years prior, with 43,000 more individuals receiving pension payments. The pension fund concluded the last year with a considerable balance of 8.37 billion euros.
A noteworthy portion of this sum, amounting to 1.52 billion euros, was directly contributed by the state budget, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting its pensioners. Pension adjustments have been implemented to address rising costs. Since December of the previous year, pension payments have increased by 5.2 percent.
This rise was achieved through a combination of measures, including a regular 4.2 percent adjustment and a subsequent 1 percent emergency adjustment in February. Consequently, the guaranteed pension for a full working life will now be 826 euros, effective from March 1st. The lowest pension amount available is 370 euros.
