The Ministry has asserted that the recent agreement reached between the Minister and the group of interventional radiologists, which facilitated the expansion of interventional radiology services at the UKC Maribor, did not incorporate any additional financial compensation. According to the Ministry, the Minister’s commitment was limited to investigating allegations raised by the radiologists and ensuring actions remained within the established legal scope of the Ministry of Health. The professional dispute escalated in May when the seven interventional radiologists collectively submitted notices of dismissal following unsuccessful negotiations concerning salary increases.
This situation also resulted in the head of the department, Jernej Lučev, vacating his position. As the date for the radiologists to sign new employment contracts approached on July 1st, some members initially filed collective notices of termination. However, following an intervention involving Ostrc, a segment of the group subsequently signed new employment agreements on Friday.
The dispute highlights ongoing employment negotiations and the formal terms governing the specialized services provided by the radiologists within the institution. The core disagreement revolves around the financial scope and legal parameters outlined in the final agreement established by the ministry.
