A 40-year-old man, identified as Simon Levy, was accused of the deaths of two women in March 2025. The victims were 53-year-old Carmenzo Valencia-Trujillo and 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins. Both women were reportedly killed following sexual assaults.
Valencia-Trujillo’s body was discovered in a neglected block located in south-eastern London, while Wilkins’ body was found behind a parking lot in northern London. The investigation revealed a pattern of violence involving the 40-year-old man. It was established that he had raped another woman in January of the same year.
During that assault, he reportedly broke the woman’s clavicle and left her in the same parking lot where Sheryl Wilkins’ body was discovered seven months later. The Metropolitan Police confirmed to the BBC that they believe the death of Wilkins could have been prevented, citing multiple errors in both police handling and court proceedings. Regarding Valencia-Trujillo, her death was initially not classified as a murder.
Nevertheless, the 40-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident, marking his first arrest in the same month.
