Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance estimates that, without regulatory intervention, the market price for gasoline could reach 1.752 euros.
Diesel fuel is also subject to a notable increase, setting the new price at 1.855 euros per liter, up from 1.723 euros. Similarly, the Ministry estimates that the unregulated price for diesel fuel would approach 1.959 euros per liter. Heating oil will also see a cost adjustment, reaching 1.464 euros per liter—a rise of 14 cents from its current rate.
These updated figures reflect a complex calculation methodology. The price setting for petroleum products is determined by analyzing the movement of global petroleum market data, specifically referencing PLATT’S European Marketscan, alongside fluctuations in the US dollar to euro exchange rate. The model prices are calculated using the 7-day average of mineral oil products to ensure a data-driven assessment of the current cost of fuel.
