The perpetrator, among other things, attacked a policeman and took his weapon, and held hostages in the house

The Novo mesto police released details concerning a complex investigation involving the apprehension of individuals suspected of criminal activity and the search for armed persons within the broader Uršnje selo region. The operation showcased a multi-faceted response, involving police officers, special units, drone operators, guide dogs, and police helicopters. A significant component of the investigation involved the pursuit of a 41-year-old Croatian citizen, who was tracked over an extended period approaching 24 hours.

The scale of the reported criminal activity required the intervention of the Novo mesto police department. Earlier in the evening, the OKC Ljubljana notified the Novo mesto Police Department regarding a robbery that occurred in the Kočevje area. Subsequently, the same alleged perpetrator was reported to have committed another crime in the Gotenica vicinity.

Furthermore, the police received a separate call for assistance from Črnomelj, where an armed individual allegedly threatened employees at a gas station, resulting in the theft of 600 euros and various tobacco products. These coordinated efforts demonstrate the breadth of the police response required to manage serial incidents across different sectors. The involvement of specialized units underscores the complexity of the ongoing investigation, as law enforcement worked to secure the area and apprehend suspects following these multiple reported incidents.
